The Gipper

Assault on America Day 48

The messiah continues his assault on the Constitution, Federalism, Taxpayers, and Morality.

During a short operational pause from spending our grandchildren's money to allow for congress to catch up (although there appear to be enough RINO turncoats look to end that pause and pass the rest of the federal budget tomorrow). A second front has been opened in order to spend more of our money - WAIT, maybe it's not an operational pause after all - today another far left position was couched in 'Reagan-esque' language. This time, the unborn are directly in his sights. He dramatically expanded Bush limited government effort (no limits on private effort - it just doesn't work, so there is no significant private effort) to one that allows for everything and everything, all at tax payer expense. Unfortunately, cloning specifically remains on the table...

Not wasting a crisis, OB envisioned progressive (had to get it in at least once) government continues to expand, with the strategic goal of moving into every corner of our lives and making us dependent (slaves in a Nanny State 'matrix'). I just want to know how he did it without an "off site" this time? I wonder if they do the obligatory team building exercises at presidential off sites?

Where can we find a model for government action that works each and every time it is tried? The Gipper of course! And, in a speech from 1964 no less.

Inheriting the last great economic crisis in 1981, President Reagan said, "We who live in free market societies believe that growth, prosperity and ultimately human fulfillment are created from the bottom up, not the government down. Only when the human spirit is allowed to invent and create, only when individuals are given a personal stake in deciding economic policies and benefiting from their success -- only then can societies remain economically alive, dynamic, progressive, and free. ... Only private industry in the last analysis can provide jobs with a future. ... The fact is, we'll never build a lasting economic recovery by going deeper into debt at a faster rate than we ever have before. ... In this present crisis, government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem."

President Ronald Reagan created the most recent template for economic and moral prosperity, outlined in "A Time for Choosing" and codified in the 1984 Republican Platform. c.f., http://reagan2020.us/speeches/A_Time_for_Choosing.asp. Unlike the recent 60+ minute repetitive offensive BO non-state of the union speech this is a fast 5 mintue read.

Ha! just saw on O'Reilly a CA tax protester: "No Taxation with Crappy Representation. New phrase, same list (of complaints)."
